Does your company offer different types of valuations?
Yes. We offer a variety of different levels of valuation services ranging from limited to comprehensive in nature. We simply require that we are in agreement as to the scope of work to be accomplished at the onset of the project and that we comminucate it clearly in our engagement letter.

Is "goodwill " considered as part of the value of the business?
All businesses, whether they have had consistent growth or not, contain two fundamental elements: tangible and intangible assets. Tangible assets refer to the 'hard' assets of the business, such as inventory, cash, accounts receivable, etc. Intangible assets refer to the portion of the business that is beyond the hard assets, such as goodwill, patents, trademarks, etc. Both of these types of assets are used to determine the total business value of companies.

What do I need to get started?
In order for us to do a valuation for an existing business, we typically need a minimum of the past three years of financial statements, current year's projections, and a list of all the assets that support the income stream of the business. This information accompanies the information gathered during interview(s) with the business owners or principles. Prior to the interview, a valuation package is provided containing a checklist of required documentation and a sample questionnaire.

How long will it take for you to complete the valuation ?
The time frame for completion depends on the level of valuation we are performing. For example, Limited Scope Valuations are completed within 10 business days from receiving the necessary information. Timeframes typically vary by engagement. However, our pledge to you is that we will turn around our valuations as quickly as possible without compromising the valuation results.

What do you charge?
Typically, we estimate the time it will take to complete the assignment and provide a quote up front rather than " value" billing by the hour. Our clients find our rates to be quite reasonable when compared to the benefits they derive from our services.
